Society for Information Science Indian Institute of Chemical Biology Bose Institute Society for Information Science Formed in 1975, SIS is an all India professional  body devoted to  encourage   interaction  among information  professionals, scientists,  managers and users. As a  part of its activities, the  Society brings out  publications, organizes  Annual Conferences on  different themes and  short-term courses on  various topics every year. Established on January  01, 1935 as the Indian  Institute for Medical  Research. The objective  of the institute is the  advancement of the state  of human knowledge  related to the basic aspect  of the causation and  prevention of diseases of  special concern for our  country, especially  tropical diseases and also  nutritional biochemistry  and physiology.   Set-up in the year 1917,   the institute has evolved  over the years into a  multi-disciplinary  research organization  with main focus on  fundamental research in  its pursuit of  advancement of  knowledge in science and  technology, at the same  time developing highly  competent scientific  manpower for the  country.
